The chance of showers will increase to 50 percent Tuesday night, with mostly cloudy skies expected and a low around 66 degrees.

National Night Out

Join the Matawan Borough Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 6 to participate in National Night Out. The free event is designed to strengthen relationships between the community and the police department, heighten crime and drug prevention and community awareness. There will be two live demonstrations by emergency personnel.

Local Baseball Team Dominates Summer League

The Central Jersey Elite 14/15U baseball team went undefeated in the USABL Summer Travel League. The team consists of players from Matawan, Aberdeen and Marlboro. Strong pitching, fielding and hitting were the key.

Fresh Kills was one of the largest landfills and man-made structures in the world, covering 2,200 acres along the western shoreline of the New York City borough of Staten Island. Now, it may become a New York City park.
