The Matawan Borough Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Matawan Municipal Community Center, 201 Broad Street.
The council will take action to award the 2013 Street Tree Removal contract, according to an agenda on the borough website.

Borough Administrator Louis Ferrara explained that the tree removal coincides with the road program.
"It is a new contract that will go to bid for tree removal services on the streets that are due to be repaved," he said in an email. "The reason for the special meeting is there is only one meeting per month in the summer and we want to get it out to bid before we start the road project."
