Volunteers Remove 2,000 Pounds Of Trash From South Amboy Beaches

This past Saturday, April 9, 331 volunteers — just like these girls —met at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy.
There, they partnered with the Middlesex County Department of Parks and Recreation and Clean Ocean Action to do Clean Ocean Action's annual Spring Beach Sweep.

The hundreds of volunteers from across Central New Jersey collected and hauled out about 10 cubic yards of trash from the shoreline. In total, they removed more than 2,000 pounds of trash from South Amboy beaches.
Volunteers also collected data for Clean Ocean Action, which will be analyzed and used to help reduce litter and marine debris in the future.
