ABERDEEN, NJ — Longtime Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini announced last month he would not seek re-election, creating a power vacuum in this Monmouth County town. Who seeks to fill it?

Here's who seeks to succeed Tagliarini at the helm of Aberdeen Township:

For mayor: Current Councilman Gregory Cannon, a Democrat, is running for mayor. Mark Bishop is the Republican running.

There are also two seats open this year on the Aberdeen council; they are two Council-at-large seats.

Current Councilwoman Margaret Montone is running, as is Pedro Mirabal, both Democrats. Lauren Ramos and Michael LaCorte are the two Republicans running for the seats.
