Woman Died While Visiting Sayreville Relative's Home, Prosecutor Says

It was a family member who found her unresponsive and called 911 at 9:37 a.m. Monday.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A South Carolina woman was found dead inside a relative's home in Sayreville Monday morning, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief Daniel Plumacker.

Upon arrival, officers located Shirley Thompson, 64, of Columbia, South Carolina, unresponsive.

She had been visiting a relative's home in Skytop Gardens, which is an apartment complex right off Rt. 9 in the Parlin section of Sayreville.

It was a family member who found her unresponsive and called 911 at 9:37 a.m. Monday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, and her cause of death is pending an autopsy from the county medical examiner.
