1 Injured In Explosion, Fire At Sayreville Power Station: Police
The explosion also knocked out power to a large part of the borough, Sayreville police said.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A person was injured Friday in an explosion and fire at a power station in Sayreville, according to police.
Sayreville authorities said the explosion happened at a power station power near Main Street and Sayreville Boulevard South. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The explosion also knocked out power to a large part of the borough, according to police. Authorities said the power is expected to be out for several hours.

A cooling center was opened at the Sayreville Senior Center, 423 Main St., for those without power.
Due to the proximity of the fire to the road, police also closed Main Street between Sayreville Boulevard South and MacArthur Avenue.
