2 Teens Stole From Middlesex Boro Middle School, Police Charge

Police say two local teens broke into Von E. Mauger Middle School early Tuesday morning and stole approximately $700 in equipment.

MIDDLESEX, NJ — Police say two local teens broke into Von E. Mauger Middle School early Tuesday morning and stole approximately $700 in equipment from the school.

Devon J. Rick-Bundschuh, 18, of Middlesex was charged with burglary, theft, employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime and conspiracy; and a 16-year-old girl, also of Middlesex borough, was charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy.

The school called Middlesex Police Wednesday afternoon to report the break-in. Detectives quickly identified Rick-Bundschuh and the teen girl as suspects, said police.

He was arrested Thursday, and released with a summons to appear. She has still not been arrested.

Detectives were also able to recover and return all of the stolen equipment.

“Our detectives worked swiftly and effectively to solve this burglary,” said Chief Matthew Geist. “Stealing from a school is a theft from our entire community — our teachers rely on this equipment to educate our children. We remain fully committed to safeguarding our schools."
