3rd Annual Mike Dessino Golf Outing 2023

Help us honor the memory of a Middlesex/Dunellen Hometown Wrestling Legend

We are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Mike Dessino Golf Outing 2023. Please join us on Wednesday, August 16th, to golf or to sponsor to honor the memory of our hometown hero.

Michael Dessino was a standout wrestler from Middlesex and continued his wrestling career to be a Division 1 wrestler at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg PA. He held many titles at district, state and national levels. Wrestling is what helped Mike make his choice in where to attend college, which led him to meeting the love of his life, Katrina, whom he would soon marry. After college Mike circled back to Middlesex helping coach the High school wrestling team. Mike was honored to accept a position with Lewisburg Federal Correctional Center as a corrections officer in PA. His career and life with his wife were tragically cut short on June 1st, 2020. Michael was on his way home from work, coming home to his pregnant wife when he was hit by another driver. Mike lost his life that night and everyone who knew him suffered an unimaginable loss.

Since Michael's death, his family is keeping his memory alive by starting a memorial foundation. Annually a scholarship is given to a wrestling high school senior to help with their future education. The Michael Dessino Memorial Foundation also helps in the community, for example; wrestling team warm up uniforms, sponsoring Middlesex High School baseball team trip, the flag ceremony at the Lincoln Blvd memorial. The foundation is also a way to secure the college education of Michael's son, Dominic. Michael never got to meet his son. But he was so elated to become a father and wanted only the very best for Dominic. The Michael Dessino Memorial Foundation is our way to help Michael continue to take care of Dominic’s future college education even though he is no longer here.
