Actor Kelsey Grammer Pops Into Middlesex Boro Sports Bar

MIDDLESEX BOROUGH, NJ — Is that Dr. Frasier Crane pouring beers behind the bar?

For some people in Middlesex borough Tuesday, it actually was.

Emmy-award winning actor Kelsey Grammer made an appearance at Ellery's Pub & Grill in Middlesex Tuesday, according to a bar employee. Grammer is making the rounds at many New Jersey bars and breweries to promote beer from his own brewery, Faith American Brewing Company.

"He was here for about an hour Tuesday, pouring beers behind the bar," said a bartender at Ellery's, who said Grammer got there at around 1 p.m. "He was really nice; he poured beers and talked with people."

The bartender said he did not personally try Grammer's beer. But he said he thinks Ellery's was chosen because they buy beer from the same distribution company Grammer's brewery uses.

Grammer founded Faith American Brewing in the Catskills in 2015; the brewery sits on 25 acres of land the actor owns in the Catskills.

Also this week, Grammer stopped by Cryan's Tavern in Hunterdon County to serve up beers from Faith American. He's also supposed to stop by the Marriott Courtyard in Basking Ridge this week as well, NJ.com reported; an exact day was not given.

This would not be the Grammer's first swing through New Jersey: He visited the Liberty Corner Fire Company in Bernards Township this past April, again promoting his beer line. The actor is a big supporter of volunteer firefighters, said Liberty Corner Chief Carl Blanchard at the time. Grammer said in a Facebook post he opened his brewery in the Catskills because he wants to "bring prosperity and commerce back to this once-thriving place."

Grammer is known across America for his beloved role as psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane on "Frasier," and the character he played got his start on "Cheers." Grammer won four Emmys and two Golden Globes for his role as Frasier.

What is lesser known however, is that although Grammer was born on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he actually spent time in Woodbridge as a child.
