DSNDP volunteers participate in a nationwide cleanup drive in Carteret

Adopt-A-Park program in Carteret becomes a part of Nationwide Cleanup Drives conducted by DSNDP across 17 states and 35 cities in the US.

A nationwide cleanup drive dedicated to the Birth Centennial of Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari is being undertaken by residents and volunteers of the non-profit organization Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan (DSNDP). Adopt-A-Park program in Carteret becomes a part of Nationwide Cleanup Drives by DSNDP across 17 states and 35 cities in the US. This event was organized by DSNDP in collaboration with the Recycling and Clean Community Department, Carteret, New Jersey.

The clean-up drive was held on 21st October 2023 at the following 5 parks in Carteret:

1. Carteret Waterfront Park - 18.2 Acres
2. Medwick Park (Post Boulevard/Pauline Street) - 83 Acres
3. Bishop Andrews Park - 4.6 Acres
4. Sgt. Jack McGreevey Memorial Park - 1 Acre
5. Carteret Park - 18.04 Acres

During this 2-hour cleanup drive, 26 volunteers collected 17 bags of garbage and recyclables from these 5 parks and disposed-off properly at the designated location.

The two year-long ‘Adopt-A-Highway/park/beach/street/reservoir’ initiatives along with Tree Plantation/Conservation initiatives are driven by hundreds of DSNDP volunteers in the United States. A tree plantation drive was undertaken by DSNDP at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Wilmington, IL on 21st May 2023 where the volunteers planted 1,425 Seedlings in a Day to Celebrate Earth Day.

To achieve concrete results by the implementation of these teachings, DSNDP committed to social services was founded in the name of Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari by Dr. Shri Dattatreya Narayan Dharmadhikari Alias Appasaheb Dharmadhikari- a prominent, multiple / global award winner, global social reformer who transformed millions of lives throughout the world with his humanitarian teachings.

The non-profit DSNDP is driven by over a million volunteers worldwide, who strive to keep the legacy of Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari alive by running massive blood-donation drives, cleanliness drives, tree plantation & conservation drives, conserving natural water reservoirs, assisting hearing-impaired children with free hearing-aids, free adult, and children’s literacy classes, etc. A mega health camp which was organized by DSNDP in India, entered the Guinness World Records as the largest health camp benefiting 152,000 people attended by 1,571 doctors and 5,000 paramedics in a single day. DSNDP had a successful Women's Cancer Awareness Event at Jersey City, New Jersey in February 2023. Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight was a chief guest for the event. The event speakers were from prominent institutions such as Harvard, Cleveland Clinic and Tufts Medical Center.

Recent Blood Donation Drives organized by DSNDP across the United States, India, Australia, UK, Canada, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Nigeria, and Singapore to name a few, stand as strong examples of the impact of mobilizing communities within our neighborhood and the world.
