Area seniors are invited to a special day of wellness and social connections from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 29, at the Old Bridge Family YMCA, located at 1 Mannino Park Drive., in Old Bridge Township.

The free event celebrates National Senior Health & Fitness Day® and marks Older Americans Month, honoring the contributions of older adults in communities across the country. In New Jersey, seniors 65 and older represent 17 percent of residents in the Garden State, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

“The Y is dedicated to keeping seniors engaged, active, and healthy,” said Laurie Goganzer, president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County. “We strive to make the Y a hub for social connections and wellness activities that contribute to overall well-being,” she added.
