David Abrutyn: At Summit Health the doctors experience matters; but we believe the patient experience matters the most. We want you to find the right doctor, in the right location, at the right time. Dr. Abrutyn is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. His practice is located in Bridgewater. He specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement, shoulder and knee surgery. Dr. Abrutyn believes that an informed patient is best positioned to make an educated decision regarding their treatment options. He partners with the patient to get the best outcomes. He will exhaust conservative treatment when appropriate. Dr. Abrutyns surgical practice focuses on meniscal repair/preservation, ACL reconstruction, partial and total knee replacements, rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs and total and reverse total shoulder replacement surgery.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
David Abrutyn: 19 years; over 100 years (formerly Summit Medical Group)
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
David Abrutyn: I always enjoyed helping people and wanted to be a doctor since I was a young boy. Having played high school sports and tearing my ACL my senior year of high school sparked my interest in orthopedic surgery.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
David Abrutyn: I try and explain their problem and treatment options in a way that is understandable and realistic.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
David Abrutyn: Helping people achieve their goals, and regaining a painless, high functioning quality of life.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
David Abrutyn: We are a comprehensive multispecialty group that extends from Somerset to Bergen County. We have an experienced doctor to address all your medical and orthopedic needs.
