Construction Worker Killed In Short Hills Accident: Police

Millburn Police reported that a worker was killed at a construction site in the Short Hills section Tuesday.

MILLBURN, NJ — A construction worker was hit by metal frames and died on a site at 90 Farley Road in Short Hills on Tuesday, police said.

Short Hills Police Captain David Bonney said Wednesday that emergency responders rushed to the scene at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday. "Upon arrival," he said, "a male, 40, of Spring Valley, NY, was found unconscious with a head injury. The injury occurred when metal construction frames fell over, striking him in the head. The male was employed by Uzeiri Construction."

Uzeiri is a Mahwah-based home construction company that was working in the residential area.

Bonney said that medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administrtion and NJ Regional Medical Examiners are continuing the investigation.
