MILLBURN, NJ — A hearing on Millburn's Fair Share and Affordable Housing settlement that was scheduled to be held on Dec. 15 has now been postponed until after the new year.

The hearing will allow people to comment on a proposed affordable housing development in Millburn that's meant to partly satisfy the town's affordable housing obligation under state law.

This residential development would be built on the current Department of Public Works site at 11 Main St. and share the site with the department.

Last week, arguments broke out at a Town Hall meeting at which the settlement was discussed.

Although Mayor Tara Prupis said she opposed building the new apartment complex, the majority of the Township Committee voted "yes" to approve a request for proposals for the 11 Main St. site.

The "Fairness and Preliminary Compliance Hearing" has been rescheduled by the Superior Court of New Jersey to Jan. 28, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
