Kindergarten Registration for 2013-2014

Kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 school year will be held at each of the township’s five elementary schools throughout the weeks of Jan. 28 and Feb. 4, 2013.  

Parents may register on either of the two days designated for registration at each school, at any time between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Parents who have other children currently attending a Millburn elementary school or the Millburn preschool must complete the registration process for their incoming kindergarten student at this time.

In order to enter kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2013, and there are no exceptions to this policy. Kindergarten is a full day of school.

For kindergarten registration, parents/guardians must register in person at the school their child will be attending. An official, original birth certificate must be shown during registration. Please also bring a copy for school files. Three proofs of residency are also required: the deed, lease, or contract for your home and two current utility bills, tax bills, or other legal mail received by you at the address you provide as your residence.

Please bring the original of each of these documents, along with two copies of each. You must also provide a copy of your child’s current immunization and health record for the school nurse. The process takes about 10 minutes for parents who have all of the forms and documentation prepared.

Registration and other required forms are available on the Millburn Schools’ website at www.millburn.org in the registration folder where you can print out the “Kindergarten Packet.” 

Families with a signed house contract or lease who will be moving into the township may also register all of their school-aged children on these registration dates.
