Millburn Baseball Celebrates Seniors With Win

The 7-5 victory over Fair Lawn extended Millburn's overall record to 20-4 this season.

The Millburn varsity baseball team celebrated "Senior Day,'' honoring its players from the Class of 2013, with a 7-5 victory over Fair Lawn at Millburn High School Tuesday. 

Junior Conor Murray clinched the victory when he hit a two-run single and eventually came around to score from second base on a sacrifice bunt to extend the team's lead to 7-2.

All five of Millburn's healthy seniors not only played but also contributed to the victory.

Senior Ian Riddell was the starting pitcher and tossed the first five innings to improve his record to 5-0 on the season. He was relieved by seniors Jordan Wenik, who pitched the sixth inning, and Jame Mynott, who worked the final frame.

Senior catcher Max Silberman, making his first varsity start, played flawlessly behind the plate and also came through with a clutch RBI single in the fourth inning that provided Millburn with a 4-2 lead. Senior Brad Bean started in center field, reached base once, stole a base and scored a run in the victory.

The victory extended Millburn's overall record to 20-4 this season.
