Millburn Education Foundation Fall Festival Set for Saturday

The second annual fall festival will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event raises funds for the Millburn School District.

The school year is off to a great start and to celebrate the Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills is holding its second annual Fall Festival on the front lawn of Millburn High School. This event will take place this Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Families of all ages will enjoy games, rides, music,food, and fun and have the opportunity to learn about the Education Foundation’s programs that support all of our schools with programming, technology and much more.

Some of the exciting new donations to schools include: Bee Bots, an award-winning programmable robot for elementary school students; response clicker technology, devices that are applicable from elementary through high school years that allow teachers to collect answers from students simultaneously for quizzes, tests, polling and more; Studio462 equipment for the high school television and broadcasting network and production studio.

According to Gabe Rhodes, Digital Video Teacher and advisor, “the new cameras, Newark tricaster ‘tv studio in a box’ and a laptop will allow streaming coverage of most, if not all, Millburn High School events. This will open the channels of communication between the school and the community like never before.”

The Fall Festival will feature many carnival games and rides for all ages including such hits as: bungee run, mechanical bull, Velcro wall, sumo wrestling, 77ft obstacle course, Wild One obstacle, rock wall climbing, 4 Man Equalizer, World of Sports, etc. Multiple food and refreshment vendors will satisfy all tastes.

Festival-goers can purchae wristbands for $30 which include access to most rides and games plus 1 popcorn or 1 cotton candy and 1 entry for a door prize.

The Ed Foundation is seeking volunteers to work shifts at the festival. Interested parties can sign up here. Additional family sponsors are still welcome and can be secured at checkout on the Ed Foundation website.
