Millburn Fire Department To Show Off Cooking Skills At Fundraiser

From Millburn FD: The Millburn Fire Department is repeating its charitable tradition of participating in the Annual Cooked and Uncorked Food and Wine Tasting Festival, now in its seventh year. The fundraising event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 at Pines Manor in Edison. Proceeds will benefit the Saint Barnabas Burn Center and the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association Foundation, which supports numerous charities.

At the event, 20 New Jersey fire departments including Millburn will be competing for a trophy to show off their cooking talents. Attendees can sample culinary offerings from more than 40 of the area's finest restaurants, caterers, and dessert shops as well as wines and spirits from distributors throughout the region.A new auction being offered this year is the opportunity to have a gourmet dinner cooked in your home by local firefighter chefs. Residents planning a special event or celebration are encouraged to bid, and winners will receive a signature full-course dinner, including appetizer, entree, and catered dessert, prepared in their homes for up to 10 guests. Specially paired wines will be served, and prep and clean-up will be included. Bids start at $750, and a portion of the winning bid will qualify as a charitable donation.
