The inaugural An Evening of Honor event will take place at The Crystal Plaza in Livingston. The evening will include a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. followed by a seated dinner at 7:30 p.m. Renee Minter, Millburn parent and stand-up comedian, will emcee the event.

Along the way he has coached football, wrestling and track. Throughout his career he has been devoted to educational excellence and maintaining Millburn High School’s status even as it has seen its population grow enormously.

Honoree Debbie Rieder has been a dedicated parent volunteer for more than 15 years as her two daughters have grown and attended Millburn schools. As president of the Education Foundation, Debbie helped grow the organization and increase its presence in the town.

She helped develop fundraisers, which culminated in more than a million dollars in donations to the district. Current Education Foundation co-president Amy Talbert says “During our time working together as co-presidents Debbie demonstrated the highest level of devotion to our cause.”

The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills is dedicated to enhancing the Millburn public school curriculum by providing equipment, technology, programs and staff development that cannot be funded within budget caps.

Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, the foundation raises funds through generous private donors, membership dues, grants and fundraising events. Its collective vision is to enhance student learning and arm students with the tools and self-confidence to reach their dreams.
