Parents of Livingston Teen Murdered By Alleged Terrorist Speak Out
Allison and Michael Tevlin speak out about their son, Brendan's tragic death. Several scholarship funds have been set up in his memory.

The parents Brendan Tevlin, the 19-year-old Livingston teen who was killed by the alleged terrorist, Ali Muhammad Brown, are speaking out about their son’s devastating murder.

“Sometimes I’ll still get angry and understandably, but then we think what would Brendan want and how are we gonna keep his memory there,” Michael Tevlin said into an interview to Fox News as reported on MY9NJ.

The story of Tevlin’s murder has sparked not only a broader discussion about domestic terrorism, but also an overwhelming amount of support for Brendan’s family, online and in the national news media. A Facebook page and the fundraising site, “Good Vibes and Easy Living in Memory of Brendan Tevlin” have been set up in his memory. The website sold t-shirts, raising $13,730 for a scholarship fund at Seton Hall prep in Brendan’s name.
As previously reported by Patch, Ali Muhammad Brown, 29, has confessed to authorities that he considered it his mission to murder Brendan Tevlin as an act of retaliation for lives lost in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Iran.

Brown, a registered sex offender, has left a trail of murders, gun crimes, and hijackings across the country. He as been charged with killing three people in Seattle before he fired ten fatal shots into Tevlin’s SUV in West Orange on June 25. Jeremy Villagran, 19, and Eric Williams, 18, both of West Orange were also charged with the murder of Tevlin.
An additional memorial fund to help raise funds to change the name of a Seton Hall Prep lacrosse field where Tevlin frequently played has also been set up online. To donate online, click here.
