Short Hills Pastor Steps Down Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations

Rev. Mosignor George Trabold, the pastor of St. Rose of Lima, has stepped down amid allegations of sexual abuse from the 1970s.

The pastor of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Short Hills has stepped down following allegations of sexual abuse.

Reverend Monsignor George Trabold, 67, has been accused of sexual abuse during his work at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield, from 1973 to 1977.

Trabold has been the pastor of St. Rose for the past 16 years, according to the Record. He stepped down last Monday.

Trabold is being investigated by the Archdiocese of Newark. He will be removed from ministry if the accusations are credible, according to the Associated Press.
