Some Halloween Events Canceled In Millburn, Others Still To Run

Some Halloween events in Millburn have been canceled due to the looming rainy weather, but the Downtown Trick-Or-Treat will still occur.

MILLBURN, NJ — Some Halloween events scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled due to a rainy forecast, but the Downtown Trick-or-Treat is still brewing for Friday.

Explore Millburn announced on their social media on Thursday that Friday's Touch-A-Truck-Or-Treat event, as well as the live music planned for Saturday night, are cancelled due to the "frightful forecast."

However, the Downtown Trick-Or-Treat will be happening Friday, Oct. 29.

The event will not be held formally in the original 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. window, but the participating merchants will be ready for trick-or-treaters on Friday during regular business hours.

The virtual costume contest is also still underway. To enter, people can post photos of their costumes on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #HalloweenEMSH.

Winners from each category will receive a $50 gift card, or a $100 gift card if they're part of a group, from a merchant of their choosing. The categories include: best celebrity character, scariest duo, best group, best adult and best pet. A directory of all the merchants can be found here.
