From Home To Office: Renovated Building Sold In Montclair

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A 6,000-square-foot office building in Montclair has traded owners.

Law firm Birkhold and Maider LLC purchased the property at 7 North Mountain Avenue from the seller, Looney Realty LLC, according to a news release from NAI James E. Hanson.

The sale price was not disclosed in Thursday’s release.

Here’s how NAI James E. Hanson described the building:

“7 North Mountain Avenue is a three-story office building originally constructed as a Victorian-style, single-family home. Recently renovated by the seller, the building boasts stained glass windows, fireplaces with tile surrounds in each office, inset seating, and other appealing features. Beyond its design, a location at the busy intersection of North Mountain Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue across from the Montclair Art Museum provides easy access to the wide range of restaurants, shops and entertainment options found in downtown Montclair. The property is also just one mile from the Walnut Street NJ Transit Station offering direct access to New York City and is approximately 12 miles away from the Newark Liberty International Airport.”

“Relocating from their office in Nutley, the firm recognized the opportunity to make a strategic investment in the future of their growing business through the purchase of the newly renovated and well-located space,” the news release stated.

“7 North Mountain Avenue’s high visibility and optimal location within Montclair were driving forces in the buyer’s decision to purchase the property,” Jessica Curry of NAI James E. Hanson said, adding that the “distinct historical charm of the building” made the transaction very unique.
