Montclair Council Picks Replacement For Carmel Loughman – And He's A Familiar Face
An election will be held to choose a permanent replacement for Loughman in November 2026.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair has a new town council member: William Harrison.
On Tuesday evening, the town council unanimously voted to appoint Harrison as the temporary replacement for Carmel Loughman, who resigned from her at-large seat in September. Her resignation left nearly three years of a four-year term unfilled.
Harrison is the chair of the Montclair Zoning Board of Adjustment.
