Montclair Native Working on Musical Adaptation of 'American Psycho'

Singer, songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik is reportedly working on bringing the murderous and menacing Patrick Bateman to the musical stage, according to Hollywood.com.

A Montclair native is part of a creative team that will bring the terrifying 1980s satire of American greed and loneliness to the musical stage, according to Hollywood.com. 

Montclair musical singer, songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik is reportedly collaborating with others to make a musical version of Bret Easton's "American Psycho," according to the website. The book was made into a feature film of the same name in 2000 staring Christian Bale playing the murderous and insane Patrick Bateman.

Duncan, who created compositions for Boardway shows such as "Spring Awakening," is reportedly working on the musical adaptation of "American Psycho" with the show's producer Jesse Singer, "Glee" producer and screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and director Rupert Goold.
