Montclair Public School MVP Spotlight: Diane Anglin
The PTA Council President was named MVP, an honor reserved for spotlighting success stories around Montclair schools.

Diane Anglin likes to signal her family-centric approach to life whenever possible, she signs letters to the school volunteers she works with as “Dallas and Denver’s mom.” This outlook dovetails with Anglin’s commitment to building family involvement with Montclair’s public schools as president of the PTA Council.
Anglin has been building involvement in the schools since older son Dallas, now 20, started at the Montclair Community Pre-K in 1996. During the school year that followed, she served her first term as a PTA president.
After volunteering in Montclair schools in various capacities over the subsequent years, Anglin presided over the PTA at Hillside from 2011 to 2013, which led to a vice presidency of the PTA Council and now the presidency.

In the newsletter Anglin answered a series of questions, one of them being, what does the PTA mean to you? Here was her response:
“I’m inspired by the involvement that occurs on an ad hoc basis, when certain types of expertise are called for: as when a father who’s a builder steps up to help construct a haunted hallway for Hillside’s Boogie Bash, or a technology expert brings experience to the development of Montclair High’s new website. We have an amazing town with amazingly talented people. I’m pretty sentimental about my children’s school experiences, and I suspect the students are, too, and that many of the events they remember fondly when they reflect on their school days will have been PTA sponsored. Frankly, I can’t imagine what a child’s school experience would be without the PTA. I don’t want to imagine it.”
