St. Cassian School Assumes a Leading Role In Technology Integration

St. Cassian School, a Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade Catholic school in Upper Montclair, has launched an individual laptop deployment, which is allowing sixth grade students the ability to enhance and maximize their learning by having state-of-the-art technology literally at their fingertips.

Students are able to perform interactive research, use educational applications to enhance learning, communicate and receive feedback from their teachers in “real time” and much more.

The individual laptop deployment is part of a comprehensive technology integration plan, which also includes a new mobile technology lab for all grades, a smart table for preschoolers, and increased iPad integration for the primary (grades Pre-K through 5) students.

“The fruition of the these initiatives has placed our school in a leading position in technology integration,” said Maria Llanes, principal of St. Cassian School. “We want our students to be prepared for high school and beyond by providing experiences that promote twenty-first century skills and encourage lifelong learning. I think we are achieving this.”

“Learning has never been more fun,” said Sophie Hradil, an eighth grader from Cedar Grove.
