Komen Race for the Cure Sunday in West Orange

Race for the Cure at the zoo complex will close streets.

More than 5,000 are expected at this year’s Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure on Sunday and there is still time to sign up. 

The race day activities include a 5K Chip-timed Race, a 5K Walk and a 1.5 mile fun walk, Kid for the Cure Dash, survivor ceremony, a Kids for the Cure area with lots of fun activities, free give-aways and more.

The following is a rundown of the race's schedule:

6:00a -   Shuttles start from Livingston Mall Parking Lots to Race Site
7:00a -   Registration Opens / Packet Pickup Available / Survivor Tent Opens
8:00a -   EXPO opens / Stretch and Aerobic Warm Up Begins
8:15a -   Race Start Line Presentation
8:30a -   RUN: 5K Timed Run begins
9:00a -   KIDS FOR THE CURE 50 YARD DASH (New this year!)
9:15a -   Survivor Procession
9:30a -   Survivor Ceremony
10:00a - WALK: 5k and 1.5m Fun Walk begins

Shuttles will also be running continuously between the race site and Livingston Mall during the event.

Road Closures

1. Cherry Lane, between Northfield Avenue & South Orange Avenue, will be closed from 4 am-2 pm 

2. South Orange Avenue (at the Cherry Lane intersection) will be closed from 6 am-2 pm
