Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
At the age of nine, I suffered a severe ski accident in Vermont. My injury was severe as I suffered an open book pelvic future required two major surgeries in 10 days, a week in ICU, and being discharged in a full body cast with a catheter. After grueling recovery and confined to a full body cast, I passed 4th grade and learned to walk again without limping, and my only long-term effect being my athletic speed being somewhat comprised. So I needed to pivot from lacrosse and basketball to golf, for which I made the Varisty team at Seton Hall Prep as a freshmen. I have served as a captain since Junior year and achieved the first ever hole-in-one in a match for Seton Hall Prep and was named to 2nd Team All County. Depsite sports, I serve as ambassador at The Prep (current student ambassador and Peer Facilitator), in addition to CO-Coordinator of the Tutoring Program, campaign letter writing for the veterans through SHP’s Service Clubs, preparing articles as Editor in Chief The Prep Newsletter, altar server for campus ministry; and member of National Honor Society.

Connor won the NJSIAA’s Sportsmanship Appreciation Week for his hole in one celebration on the Essex County course with his teammates from Montclair, regardless of rivalry, the boys supported each other and was heartwarming.
Keep up the great work, Connor!
