Jury Duty Phone Scam Reported In Morris County: Police
Citizens are receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be Sergeant Smith of the Morris County Sheriff's Department.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The Morris County Sheriff's Office reported that phone scammers are at it again, this time with calls about missed jury duty.
Citizens are receiving phone calls from 973-532-2709 and someone claiming to be Sergeant Smith of the Morris County Sheriff's Department. During the initial phone conversation, potential victims are being advised to contact Sergeant Smith at the following numbers, 719-428-6997 and 719-520-7100.
The Morris County Sheriff's Office said they are not associated with Sergeant Smith or the phone numbers. Never give any unknown individual sensitive personal information, money, or access to your assets.
