MORRIS, NJ — Morris Museum is now a Smithsonian Affiliate museum, the only museum in New Jersey to have a partnership with the renowned institution.

Morris Museum announced the partnership on Thursday. They are now a part of over 200 Smithsonian partner institutions. As an affiliate, they are now eligible for resources, such as traveling exhibitions and programming, the consideration of loans for Smithsonian materials, speakers, and more.

"The Morris Museum is beginning an exciting process of refocusing and recalibration, and our Smithsonian relationship is very much a part of this plan. Providing the Smithsonian a 'footprint' in New Jersey is an honor that the Morris Museum strategically embraces. We look forward to helping the Smithsonian serve the Nation, as we take advantage of the Smithsonian’s tremendous resources to serve New Jersey," the museum's executive director, Dr. Cleveland Johnson, said in a statement.
