Who's On The Morristown Ballot And Where To Vote

If you live in Morristown, here's what you need to know about voting in the general election in 2022.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Election Day is coming up on November 8, and Morristown residents will be going to the polls to vote in a variety of races. Here’s what you need to know about voting in Morristown.

Morristown does not have mayoral or Town Council elections this year.

In the Morris Plains municipal election, one candidate is running to replace current Mayor Jason C. Karr, who is running for re-election this year. Candidate Arthur "Art" J. Bruhn Jr. is running in opposition.

Morris Plains voters will also be voting for two new borough council members. There are four people running for two at-large seats (each term lasts three years): Jennifer L. Meehan, James W. Myers, Joan Goddard and Nancy Verga.

In the Morris Plains Board of Education race, there are three people running for three seats (terms last for three years): Christina Perry, Adam Higgins and Maria R. Manley.

Morris Township voters will be voting for two new members to the township committee. There are four people running for two seats (one term lasts for three years and the other lasts for two years): Peter V. Mancuso, Jeff Grayzel, Sherry N. Nardolillo and Donna J. Guariglia.

In the Morris Township Board of Education race, there are three people running for three seats (terms last for three years): Dawn Teresa Parkot, Melissa Spiotta and Susan M. Pedalino.

On the county level, Morristown voters will choose candidates for the Morris County Board of County Commissioners. There are six candidates running for three seats, each for a three-year term: Doug Cabana, Judith Hernandez, Tom Mastrangelo, Thomas "TC" McCourt, Christine Myers and Baramdai "Alicia" Sharma.

Morristown voters will also get to cast a ballot for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The county is split between the 11th district and the 7th district. In the 11th district, incumbent Mikie Sherrill (Democratic Party) faces a challenge from Paul DeGroot (Republican Party) and Joseph Biasco (Independent).

HOW TO VOTE

Election Day takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. There are three ways to turn in your ballot for the 2022 general election in New Jersey.

Vote By Mail – Every active registered voter is eligible to request a vote-by-mail ballot. If you would like to receive your ballot by mail, you must request your ballot not less than seven days before an election. Otherwise, you must get your vote-by-mail ballot in-person from your county clerk by 3 p.m. the day before Election Day. Voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to return their ballot to the Board of Elections in person, or deposit it in one of their county’s authorized ballot drop boxes. You can also mail your ballot; it must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Vote In-Person (Early) – New Jersey passed a law in 2021 that allows residents to vote early during a nine-day period before Election Day. For the 2022 general election, the early voting period takes place from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday). In Morris County, early voting locations are in the following municipalities: Boonton Township, Morris Plains, Denville, Whippany, Madison, Morristown, Mount Olive and Mount Arlington (see a full list and addresses here).

Vote In-Person (on Election Day) – The 2022 general election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your location polling place here.
