New 7-Eleven Store With Gas Station Opens In Morris County

A new 4,000-square-foot structure with eight gas pumps has officially opened in Morris County.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A new gas station and convenience store has opened its doors in Hanover, joining the 19-acre Cedar Village retail center on the site of the former Northrop Grumman defense technology headquarters.

The new 7-Eleven convenience store, which is located at 228 East Hanover Avenue, is 4,000 square feet in size and includes a gas canopy with eight pumps, providing a total of 16 fueling positions.

One pump provides diesel fuel and self-service air, and a vacuum is also available for customers, JMF Properties officials said.

"This brand-new 7-Eleven will provide Morris County residents with a convenient new option for their shopping and fueling needs," Joe Forgione, the Founder and Principal of JMF Properties, said. "We identified 7-Eleven as a business that would thrive in this location and contribute a desired service to local residents and motorists, including visitors to Mennen Arena as well as contractors and other professionals who make frequent trips to Lowe’s."

The new location also offers 7-Eleven Wallet, 7-Eleven, Inc.'s app-based mobile wallet that provides all customers — including those who want to load cash — with a true contactless, convenient way to pay.

The new 7-Eleven was built on land that was previously owned by the aerospace and defense company Northrop Grumman. The property was abandoned in 1985 and remained so until the JMF/RD team remediated it and built the Cedar Village retail center.

The new building is also directly across the street from Mennen Sports Arena, a popular recreation and sports destination in Morris County that features three indoor ice rinks.
