Overnight Vehicle Burglaries Reported In Morris Plains: Police

The police department has once again released a set of guidelines to help residents keep their vehicles safe from theft.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — Members of the Morris Plains Police Department issued a public safety alert following two vehicle theft incidents in the township Thursday night.

According to Chief Koroski of the Morris Plains Police Department, two township vehicles were burglarized late Thursday night into early Friday morning. Both thefts occurred in the area of Central Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue.

The two cars were unlocked, Koroski said, but it appears as though nothing of value was stolen.

Residents are being reminded once more to lock their vehicles, not only to protect their personal property but also due to a new trend of stolen vehicles being frequently used to commit other violent crimes.

Koroski wants to remind anyone to report any suspicious activity to the police department.
