Police Doing No-Shave November To Help Cop With Cancer In Morristown
Morristown police are supporting a long-serving officer who has been diagnosed with cancer by participating in No-Shave November.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — This month several Morristown Department officers are putting their razors away for a good cause.
The Morristown Police Department will kick off a No-Shave November fundraiser to benefit Sgt. Brendan Briscoe, a long-serving Morristown officer who was diagnosed with cancer last month.
Sgt. Briscoe has lived in Morristown his entire life and has worked for the Bureau of Police for the past 25 years. During that time, he has worked as a cop, a detective, and a sergeant and he is well-known in the community, officials said.

"Brendan has always been the first to backup any officer on a call but now he finds himself needing some help of his own. Last month, Brendan learned that he was diagnosed with cancer and his life has taken quite a turn," Morristown PBA Local 43 said.
The "No Shave November" movement encourages individuals, businesses and organizations to forgo shaving the entire month of November in honor of cancer patients, many of whom lose their own hair during treatment.

Every dollar raised through the No-Shave November campaign this year will be donated to Brendan and his family. Each bearded member of the police department will donate their own money and are being asked to raise additional funds to help Brendan get through this difficult time.
"While we have been overwhelmed with the support that the greater Morristown community has already shown, we’re hoping to help Brendan and his family with everything we can and are asking for your support," Morristown PBA Local 43 said.
Anyone in the public is welcome to donate to the cause by sending a check to P.O. Box 251 Morristown, NJ 07963, or by dropping off a check/cash at the Police Station at any time.
