Teacher Sentenced For Stalking A Student In Morris County: Prosecutor

Tajinder Tung, 61, of Stewartsville, was recently sentenced in connection with stalking a Mount Olive High School student.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A former teacher at Mount Olive High School is facing stalking charges after harassing a Mount Olive High School student for over two years, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

Tajinder Tung, 61, of Stewartsville, who was first charged with stalking and harassing a student in 2019, was recently charged and sentenced to 60 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility as a condition of a three-year probationary term.

According to officials, Tung was accused of stalking and harassing the student both inside and outside of school from sometime in 2017 through May 2019.

According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by Patch previously, the alleged harassment began in school but progressed to stalking outside the classroom. The student was not enrolled in one of Tung's classes, nor was she involved in any extracurricular activities overseen by Tung, according to the affidavit.

Tung allegedly "consistently" stared at the student in the hallways and through the window into her classroom during the school day. According to the records, he also gave her chocolate on one occasion.

Following his sentencing, Tung was ordered to forfeit his public employment, Carroll said.
