4 Men Snatch Newark Teen’s Dog; Search For ‘Teddy Dibiase’ Begins

Newark police are officially on the hunt for Ted Dibiase, a French bulldog stolen from a local teen.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are officially on the hunt for “Ted Dibiase,” a French bulldog snatched from a local teen who was walking his beloved furry friend last week.

On Thursday, the Newark Police Department asked the public for help finding the stolen family pet (see photos above).

Police released the following statement about the theft, which took place on Aug. 12:

“At approximately 2:40 p.m., the victim, a 13-year-old boy, was walking the family’s dog, named Ted ‘Teddy’ Dibiase, on the 400-block of South 19th Street. A white Jeep occupied by four males pulled up behind the victim. The vehicle’s occupants exited and snatched the dog before fleeing with the dog inside the vehicle, heading eastbound on South Orange Avenue.”

Newark police said the men were wearing gloves, and the driver of the getaway vehicle was wearing a ski mask.

“Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly locating the dog so that it can be returned to its rightful owners,” police said.
