“We thought we'd seen it all when Captina was brought to our medical department with a fishing hook sticking out of her face – clearly, we were wrong! We're unsure how this precious girl found herself in this sticky situation but we flew into action to free her. Captina underwent a gentle procedure to remove the hook that was causing her significant pain, and now she's good as new. Though a little swollen as she recovers, the most important thing is she's out of pain and ready to charm her way into your heart.”

“This 3-year-old tuxedo beauty is not just a survivor but a social butterfly with a winning personality who will soon be looking for a forever home,” the shelter wrote. “Get ready to be captivated by Captina – she's the purr-fect addition to any loving home!”

A spokesperson for AHS-Newark told Patch on Tuesday that they hope Captina will be available for adoption soon, although she’s still healing from her surgery.
