Free Movies for Kids at CityPlex 12, Important Hearing on PSEG Facility

Find out what's going on in Newark on Tuesday.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment is holding a hearing tonight to consider an application from utility PSEG, which is planning on building an electrical switching station in the West Ward.

The utility—whose project has stirred concern among residents fearful of the impact the facility may have on the area—is seeking a variance from city requirements governing the height of the walls to be built around the site, located at a former church not far from the Georgia King Village homes.

Did you know CityPLex 12, 360 Springfield Ave., is showing kids movies throughout the summer—and admission is free? Tuesday's movie, which begins at 10 am, is “Mirror, Mirror,” last year’s updated version of the children’s classic Snow White starring Julia Roberts. Call 973-642-4708 for more information.

Justin Bieber is performing at the Prudential Center Tuesday and Wednesday, too. Even if you're not a fan of the superstar Canadian singer, we figured we'd give you the heads-up to expect the usual crush of crowds and traffic happening downtown whenever the Rock hosts a sellout show. Remember, the police usually close off Mulberry Street near the arena during events, so plan accordingly.
