Halsey Festival Returns To Newark This Week: 2025 Event Details

The free, family-friendly festival will include vendor markets, live performances, local businesses, food and activities.

NEWARK, NJ — The Halsey Festival will return to Newark for another year of fall fun on Thursday, Sept. 18

The 2025 festival will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. on Halsey Street (between Central Avenue and New Street).

According to organizers, the family-friendly festival will include vendor markets, live performances by local artists, local businesses, food and activities. It is free and open to the public.

Here’s what to expect this year, organizers said in a news release:

Show-Stopping Performances – The Main Stage will come alive at 3 p.m. with electrifying live performances by some of Newark’s most talented local artists.

Halsey Street Sounds – Local DJ collective bunkr. will provide the soundtrack for the festival, alongside the performances on the Main Stage.

Vibrant Vendor Market – A market featuring a variety of delicious foods, handcrafted items, and artwork will line Hasley Street. Festivalgoers can find treasures that reflect the soul and creative spirit of Newark. Highlighted vendors include Tameika Lewis, Founder and CEO of Newark-based Bklyn Bar Soap and Justis Pitt, owner of Newark-based The BrownMill Atelier.

Karaoke – Karaoke on Halsey is back by popular demand from 7 to 9 p.m., when the Main Stage will transform into a karaoke hotspot where festivalgoers become music stars.

Halsey Fest is part of Festivals United Newark (FUN), a citywide coalition of Newark’s most beloved cultural events—including AfroBeat Fest, Halsey Fest, Newark Arts Festival, Newark Pride Festival, the City of Newark Parks Foundation, and Newark Winter Village—formed through a $1.5 million grant awarded to the Newark Alliance by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
