Jazz for Kids Event Being Held Saturday
'What is Latin Jazz?' explores roots of an old art form

This Saturday, April 6, at Newark Symphony Hall, radio station WBGO will be hosting the latest its Kids Jazz Concert Series. ‘What is Latin Jazz?” with Bobby Sanbria and Ascencion.
The event will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the hall, 1020 Broad St.
Families will be introduced to the idioms, concepts, and historical timeline of intoxicating Afro-Caribbean and Pan-American rhythms fused with the elevated harmonic structure and instrumental virtuosity of jazz. There will be Q&A sessions with the artists, small gifts, and a chance to win a door prize.
Free tickets to the general public are handed out in the lobby of the venue on the day of performance only and on a first-come, first-served basis. Adults must be accompanied by a child.
