Livingston Mom Is Collecting Diaper Donations For Newark Nonprofit
With the help of the Essex County community, Sara Franks donated 26,000 diapers last year. She's already got a 400-pound head start on 2022.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Sara Franks collected tens of thousands of diapers last year in a quest to help other mothers and families in Essex County. And for 2022, she’s already got a 400-pound head start on this year’s campaign.
Franks, a publicity professional based in Livingston, is making a big difference for The Apostles’ House in Newark, a nonprofit devoted to providing comprehensive social services to homeless women and children and individuals or families at risk of homelessness in Essex County.
Last year, she put together a successful drive that collected more than 26,000 diapers for the nonprofit. Read More: First-Time Mom Launches Diaper Drive For Newark Nonprofit

According to a news release from Franks:
“The reality is 1 in 3 families in the U.S. have diaper need. While many may think that lack of timely diaper changes can just lead to rash, it can also cause more serious infections. In addition, families who cannot provide proper supplies to daycare centers, may not be accepted - ultimately jeopardizing employment.”
Franks said that this year, she is committed to donating even more and is looking to the community to rally around the cause. Of note, Hello Bello (the diaper company founded by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard) has already donated 400 pounds of diapers.
