Skyscrapers in the News, Revealing Poll About Newark Charter Schools This Week

The week ahead on Newark Patch.

This week, we’ll be writing about the remarkable results of a poll asking Newark voters their opinion of the city’s charter schools, which number around two dozen. The city’s already large charter system -- which educates about a third of the city’s public school students -- is set to expand even more in the next few years.

Also this week, we’ll be updating you on what’s going on with the National Newark Building, the iconic downtown tower that has graced the city’s skyline since the 1930s and which sustained some very visible damage during Superstorm Sandy last year.

In more skyscraper news, we’ll be checking in with a downtown merchant who says the ongoing construction of the new Prudential office building has had a serious impact on her small business.
