The head of the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union said New Jersey’s civil unions for same-sex couples must now be considered unconstitutional in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the federal DOMA law. Udi Ofer said the unions must now be replaced with full-fledged marriage equality between both straight and gay couples.
