Graduation Day at New Brunswick High School

The class of 2013's graduation ceremony was on Wednesday night at the high school.

New Brunswick High School's gymnasium was packed to the gills with joyful friends and family on Wednesday evening at the school's 146th commencement.

Class speaker Jasmin L. Rivera pointed out that the class of 2013 is the first graduating class to have spent all four years in the new high school building.

"(We are) now ready to go off and make a thousand mistakes and a thousand successes," she said.

Valedictorian Yanet M. Marroquin discussed her journey from repeating a grade in elementary school to her nomination as valedictorian.

"I started enjoying the experience of getting good grades," she said.

She plans to attend Rutgers University in the fall to study criminal justice.
