2 Middlesex County Men Charged With Online Luring

PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone charged two Middlesex County men in a sting she did this June, targeting people who used social media to allegedly lure underage minors for sexual activity.

One man is from Piscataway; the other is from Woodbridge.

In total, four New Jersey men were arrested in the sting; the other two are from Jersey City. All four thought they were talking online with minors who said they were 13 or 14 years old, said the prosecutor. In reality, they were chatting with undercover police officers.

All four were arrested last week, from June 3 through June 10.

All four men were arrested after they arrived at an unnamed location in East Brunswick, where they expected to meet the child, said the prosecutor. Instead, they were met with police officers.

The prosecutor did not say on which social media site the men met the "minors."

The four men are:

  • Peter Wissemann, 27, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, was charged with one count of second-degree Luring and one count of third-degree Criminal Attempt – Endangering Sexual Conduct with a Child.
  • Edgar Rivera, 65, of Piscataway, was charged with one count of second-degree Luring and one count of third-degree Criminal Attempt – Endangering Sexual Conduct with a Child.
  • Mohamed Mohamed, 41, of Jersey City, was charged with one count of second-degree Luring.
  • Malyar Baron, 32, of Jersey City, was charged with one count of second-degree Luring, one count of second-degree Criminal Attempt -Endangering, one count of third-degree Distributing Obscene Material to a Minor, and one count of third-degree Criminal Attempt – Endangering Sexual Conduct with a Child.

The investigation is active and continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3300.
