Highland Park Officials Seek Volunteers, Donations for Holiday Dinner

The Borough of Highland Park seeks volunteers and donations to help with a free holiday dinner scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 25 at the Highland Park Senior Center.

The dinner is open to all borough residents, and will feature a holiday meal, music and a visit from Santa, according to a Nixle message from the borough.

Volunteers are needed to help with cooking, serving, cleaning and entertainment during the following shifts:
10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Contributions of the following items are also needed:

  • 14 red tablecloths, in large round and rectangular sizes
  • 300 forks, knives and spoons
  • 150 holiday napkins
  • 150 drinking cups
  • 150 holiday dishes
  • Gift donations in the form of gift cards and gift certificates from local businesses.
  • 15 turkeys
  • 20 lbs of candied yams
  • Cranberry sauce
  • 10 bags of salad
  • 10 bottles of salad dressing
  • Fruit salad 
  • Dessert items
  • Juice
  • Soda
