The Borough of Highland Park seeks volunteers and donations to help with a free holiday dinner scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 25 at the Highland Park Senior Center.
The dinner is open to all borough residents, and will feature a holiday meal, music and a visit from Santa, according to a Nixle message from the borough.
Volunteers are needed to help with cooking, serving, cleaning and entertainment during the following shifts:
10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Contributions of the following items are also needed:
- 14 red tablecloths, in large round and rectangular sizes
- 300 forks, knives and spoons
- 150 holiday napkins
- 150 drinking cups
- 150 holiday dishes
- Gift donations in the form of gift cards and gift certificates from local businesses.
- 15 turkeys
- 20 lbs of candied yams
- Cranberry sauce
- 10 bags of salad
- 10 bottles of salad dressing
- Fruit salad
- Dessert items
- Juice
- Soda
