New Brunswick Free Public Library to Screen Documentary Films as Part of Fertile Crescent Exhibit
As part of the Fertile Crescent project, the library will host Borderlands from October 9 until Dec. 3, 2012 in the Carl T. Valenti Community Room. This exhibit features the work of local artists Linda Bock-Hinger, Sheetal Bagewadi, Reem Hussein, Natalia Kadish, Mediha Sandhu, Ela Shah and Tamara Woronczuk. It will available for viewing in the Community Room primarily on Wednesday evenings and on weekends.
In conjunction with the exhibit, two documentary movies will be shown as well as a workshop on film-making. Miss Representation will be shown on Saturday, Nov. 3 and Lady Kul El Arab on Sunday, Nov. 4.
On the following Saturday, Nov.10, a film-making workshop will be led by Dr. Fahkri Haghani, an Interdisciplinary Scholar at the Rutgers Center for Middle Eastern Studies.

Judith K. Brodsky and Ferris Olin are directors of the project, which is a showcase of exhibitions, symposia, lectures, film screenings, musical and literary events by contemporary Middle East women artists, scholars, filmmakers, composers, performers, and writers. Susan Falciani is the curator of the Borderlands exhibit.
