Tell us your poison story! Open to all students K-12th grade.

📢 Attention Creators!

The National Poison Prevention Week (NPPW) Council is hosting its annual Poster and Video Contest to raise poison safety awareness for students K-12 nationwide. The 2025 theme is “When the Unexpected Happens, Poison Help is here for you.” You can help tell your friends about poison dangers and how to stay safe from poisoning!


💡 Did You Know?

  • Poisonings are the leading cause of injury deaths in the U.S.
  • Over 50% of cases managed by poison centers involve kids and teens.

Your creativity could save lives!


How to Participate:

Video Contest (Grades 5-12)

WHAT: Create a short video (2 minutes max).
HOW:

Find out what's happening in New Brunswickfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  1. Work solo or with up to 3 friends.
  2. Choose a poison safety topic.
  3. Plan your video to:
    • Share tips to stay safe from poisoning.
    • Include the Poison Help line: 1-800-222-1222.
    • Feature the Poison Help logo (found on the contest site).
  4. Submit your video by February 4, 2025, 11:59 p.m. CST

PRIZES:

  • Grand Prize: $1,000 & a trip to Washington, D.C.!
  • 1st Place: $200 (Grades 5-8 & 9-12)
  • People's Choice: $100

Poster Contest (Grades K-4)

WHAT: Design a poster or drawing.
HOW:

  • 1st Place: $100 (Grades K-2 & 3-4)
  • People's Choice: $50
