Award-Winning Artists at State Theatre
Grammy nominees featured in long weekend of concerts.
The will feature a trio of world-renown artists cutting across genres next week.
Singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd and easy-listening performer Michael Feinstein will be featured at the theater on May 17, 18 and 19.

With such hits as “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” few singer-songwriters have contributed as much quality material to folk music as Canadian-born troubadour Gordon Lightfoot. A five-time Grammy nominee and 17 time Juno winner, Gordon Lightfoot is also a member of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. His songs have been recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to Barbra Streisand to Bob Dylan. The folk singer-songwriter’s other chart-topping hits include, “For Lovin’ Me,” “Early Morning Rain,” “Steel Rail Blues,” and “Ribbon of Darkness.”

Named one of the top blues guitarists of all time by Guitar World magazine (alongside legends B.B. King and Eric Clapton), Kenny’s hits include “Blue on Black,” “Everything is Broken,” “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway,” “In 2 Deep,” and “Slow Ride.”

Michael Feinstein, the multi-platinum-selling, five-time Grammy-nominated entertainer dubbed “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook,” performs live with his five-piece band. Considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards, Feinstein’s 200-plus shows a year have included performances at Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. Through his live performances, recordings, film and television appearances and his songwriting (in collaboration with Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Lindy Robbins, and Carole Bayer Sager), Feinstein is an all-star force in American music.
